Back At It / Under Cover

Finally, we’re back in the swing of things. We’ve got several shows coming up this month, and we’re doing some mixing as well. We’re still adding lots of extras with our buddy Dave Holt (who would love to inexpensively record your next demo, by the way), but we’re getting together with Devin to start really mixing down a couple tunes this month. That might mean new songs for you to hear soon… No promises, but we’d love to let you hear some of the progress soon. We’ve done all sorts of things with weird timpani noises, cymbal scrapes, and saxophones. Hell, there’s even a weird rusty metal thing called a break drum that may or may not end up somewhere on the record.

On top of all that, we’re learning a whole bunch of cover songs for our dear friend Edward who is getting married soon. Ed has lent his expert violin/fiddle playing to a few of our live shows, and he’ll be appearing on our record in several different places. We’re honored to be his reception band, though I can’t imagine it will be on par with a standard wedding band (for better or worse). It’ll be a spectacle to be sure. All this to say, if an unexpected cover tune rears its ugly head at an upcoming show, it’s all Ed’s fault. Unless it sounds good, then it was all my idea.
