The Year-End Is Near

2008 is almost OVER. You have precisely two chances to see Tereu Tereu before it’s done: The Saturday after Christmas on the MAINSTAGE of the Black Cat, and on New Years Eve at the Third Floor in Fredericksburg. The BC show is going to rule. So is New Years Eve. You should probably go to both. We’ll be at both, I know that much.

Christmas is coming soon. Looking for last-minute presents? Here are my recommendations:

–If you can find it, Shepard Fairey makes some great art. He did the ubiquitous-but-awesome Obama HOPE posters, and he just makes really neat stuff.

–For people interested in ethics/food/how things work, Michael Pollan has written some really great books about why what we eat matters. Plus, it’s just awesome to read about how food gets to your table (hint: it starts way before the grocery store).

–Do you really love those abstract-but-heart-wrenching bands like Sigur Ros and Explosions In The Sky? Are you really into music without any intelligible vocals? Consider getting the new Collections of Colonies of Bees record. Their album Birds is expansive and hopeful and creative and utterly gorgeous. It came in a little under the radar, but if you like that whole post-rock genre (whatever that means), you should check it out.

–I still can’t stop listening to that damn Ra Ra Riot record. Also, Bon Iver and TV on the Radio put out really incredible records this year.

This is now in our living room thanks to my awesome roommate.

    I am assuming Shepard Fairey made that poster. I LOVE it. I actually just got my free moveon.org Obama sticker. I still kind of like war, though. LOLBRB OMG.

    I have that Make Art Not War sign! It’s awesome. I like the solo video on your video page, too - nice work -

    @David C. Garcia -
    Yep, Mr. Fairey indeed. Also, war is so Christian metal.

    @Jeff -
    Nice! Yeah, my roommate just got that poster and put it in our living room. I was pretty excited. Oh, and thanks about the video. We actually filmed it in Narnia, which I think really brought everything together.
